چکیده

The activities of three commercial products of papain were compared as supplied and after activation, and when used in the enzyme-serum method for rhesus (D) grouping. Certain dangers in activation became apparent, and accurate determination of the proportions of papain to anti-D appeared more important than indiscriminate activation without reference to the initial enzyme activity. A technique for assessing these proportions is described.

Resting and Activated Natural Tregs Decrease in the Peripheral Blood of Patients with Atherosclerosis

Background: Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting large and medium arteries. CD4+ T cells are known to play a role in the progression of the disease. CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ natural Treg (nTreg) cells seem to have a protective role in the disease and their reduction in acute coronary syndrome is recently shown. Objective: To investigate the frequency of nTreg subsets in the pe...

P-76: Cytogenetic Investigation of Parthenogenetic Mouse Embryos Generated from In Vitro Activated Oocytes by Hydrostatic Pressure in The Presence of Calcium Ionophore and Ethanol

Background: The advances in cytogenetic techniques during the last few years have permitted not only the study of large populations of wild and domestic animals, but also the detection of chromosome anomalies in embryos. Chromosomal abnormalities are the most common cause of embryonic and fetal mortality in mammals. Most reports of chromosome anomalies in parthenogenetic embryos describe numeri...

Investigation of Activation Time on Pore Size Distribution of Activated Carbon Determined with Different Methods

Three activated carbons are synthesized in a rotary reactor at different activation times. The adsorption isotherms of the samples are measured The pore size distribution of the samples is determined using combined Saito and Foley method, BJH method. An average potential function has been determined inside the cylindrical pores. The effect of activation time on the pore size distribution sample...
